Scrabble is a strategy word game featuring a 15 × 15 square board, up to 4 players, and 100 letter tiles. The objective of the game is to have the most points by the time that there are no letter tiles left.

Gameplay Edit

Players take turns forming words with their letter tiles, and the ones available on the board. The first player may form a downwards or left-to-right word with any of their available letters, as long as one of them is on the center square of the board, marked by a star. From now on, play continues in a clockwise order and each play must spell at least one word and be touching at least one of the previously placed letter tiles. On a player's turn, they can either play as many letter tiles as they like touching each other or for the same word in the same row or column, or set aside as many letter tiles they want, draw enough new ones to replace them, and then mix the old ones back in. At the end of a players turn, they draw back up to 7 letter tiles. Words can be challenged for no penalty, but the challenged player must take their letters back and lose their turn if the challenger is correct.

Setup Edit

First, flip all letter tiles upside-down and mix them up. Each player starts by drawing one letter tile to see who goes first. The player who drew the letter tile closest to the beginning of the alphabet goes first. If there is a tie, then all tied players draw a second letter. All of these letter tiles are now mixed back in, and each player draws 7 new ones.

Scoring Edit

Each letter tile placed down is scored the number of points shown in the corner for each word that it is a part of when it is placed down. All letter tiles in a word that is being added onto are also scored for the player adding onto it. Double and triple word squares double the number of points scored for all of the letters in that word, and double or triple letter tiles multiply the number of points scored for that individual letter, but double and triple word and letter tiles are only counted when a tile is being actively played on them, and do not score anything for any players on consecutive turns. An additional 50 bonus points are scored for any player who uses all 7 of their letter tiles on a single turn.
